Walking across Iceland was quite a special adventure for me. It was the first adventure I have undertaken with one of my brothers and it had a clear goal; walk across an inhospitable climate without dying. When I asked my brother if he wanted to do this, I don’t think either of us had any idea what we were getting ourselves into, but we had a pretty awesome time and it is another little reminder of where there is a will, there is a way. You need neither large sums of money nor training to undertake an adventure. Anyways, this is the video of our arrival in Iceland and how we got from the airport to Vík, the southernmost village in Iceland and the place where we started our journey. From here our aim was simple; follow the compass north until we reached the other side of the country. How difficult could that be….?! Cue glaciers, erupting volcanoes, and summer snow…!

Wow! This is such an adventure, Jamie. I really enjoyed your video and the sights it offered. You are truly courageous! Is hitchhiking a good idea in Iceland?
Thanks for checking it out 🙂 Hitching was pretty easy in Iceland it seemed once away from Reykjavik so I would recommend it.
